How to Use the Directory – Step by Step

  1. Search by Name or District Type the name of a place or a district into the search bar at the top, you’ll instantly see matching results.
  2. Filter by District Use the district dropdown to show only places in a specific area (e.g., only places in Galle or Kandy).
  3. Filter by Category Use the category dropdown to narrow down results to one type (e.g., only beaches, only temples, only national parks).
  4. Combine Filters You can use both district and category filters together at the same time, for example: “beaches in Galle” or “historical sites in Kandy”.
  5. Popular Places If you want to discover the most visited or highly recommended spots, simply select the popularity filters, this highlights the best-loved places based on user activity and check-ins.
  6. View Place Cards Every result shows as a card with a photo, name, category, district, and open/close status for quick scanning.
  7. Click for Full Details Tap any card to open the complete place page — you’ll see:
    • Detailed description
    • Full address & contact info (if available)
    • Open/close hours & status
    • Map location
